

Montenegro, a dramatically beautiful coastal country bordering the Adriatic Sea just south of Croatia, is a little smaller than Wales with a population of 620,000. The 293 kilometres of coastline contain 117 sand, shingle or pebble strewn beaches with crystal clear turquoise water. Inland to the south of the country is the Skada lake providing the perfect location for fishing and rambling. The world heritage site Durmitor National Park in the North East is ideal for summer and winter sports. The rural interior with its mountains and deep gorges, the Tara Canyon being second in depth only to the Grand Canyon, provides a unique opportunity for the tourist to discover the country´s incredible natural beauty and to become involved in activities such as skiing at Zabljak and Kolasin and white water rafting down the canyon.

It is within easy reach of the UK (2hours 30 mins) as well as most of Southern and Central Europe, Western Russia and many of the old Eastern Block Countries. Montenegro has very little industrial activity and is renowned for the quality of its air and lack of pollution. The Mediterranean climate, average 27.4° C summer and 13.4° C winter with 180 days of sun, provide the ideal location for a second home or holiday. Montenegro is the first Ecological State in the world.
